Your Recovery Journey begins with developing a Wellness Plan that is Individualised to your unique needs. Your Recovery Team will assist you in developing this plan. At different periods of time, your goals may change and you will have the opportunity to revise things whenever you feel it is necessary.
Before starting your WRAP, it is important to reflect on your journey so far and take the time to think about how you have managed your emotions, the actions you have taken and how these have impacted on you. Have they helped achieve your goals? Have they supported you to stay healthy? Have you been happy? Have they fostered healthy relationships with the people you care about? By doing this, you can begin to identify what is important to you and how you can initiate strategies to support your wellbeing goals.
At times, some of the strategies required may not be mutually agreed between yourself and your recovery team eg crisis plan. At these times, it is important to communicate clearly with your team and all efforts will be taken to follow your plan within safety protocols.
It is important that others involved in your journey are aware of your Recovery Wellness Plan and it is useful for them to have a copy of it. This allows others to support you in the best way possible respecting your wishes.
